NEWS IN: Top Luhya Politician Ditches Wetangula’s Ford Kenya, Joins Sifuna’s Linda Mwananchi

Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi has announced the arrival of Matulo Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Stephen Kaiser Simiyu, popularly known as Steve Sonko, into the Linda Mwananchi Movement Party.

In a statement, Wanyonyi said he had officially welcomed the MCA into the political outfit following his defection from Ford Kenya.

The development marks a new political alignment for the Matulo Ward representative, who has now joined the movement as it continues to receive leaders from different political parties.

Wanyonyi welcomed Steve Sonko to the party, expressing optimism about working with him towards advancing their shared political and development agenda.

“Karibu sana, Mheshimiwa!” Wanyonyi said while announcing the MCA’s entry into the movement.

The Westlands MP also extended an invitation to other leaders and Kenyans who share the movement’s vision to join its ranks.

He said the initiative seeks to contribute to building a better Kenya while positioning Bungoma County as a model county.

Steve Sonko’s defection from Ford Kenya adds another political development to the changing party affiliations among leaders in Bungoma as the country moves closer to the 2027 General Election.

However, details surrounding the circumstances of his departure from Ford Kenya and the specific reasons for joining the Linda Mwananchi Movement Party were not immediately provided.
