12 Players to Miss Como vs Manchester United Clash

According to a report by Manchesterevening News on Monday October 19, 2026, Manchester United’s disappointing 1-1 draw against Leeds United extended their winless streak to six matches across all competitions, increasing pressure on Michael Carrick ahead of their upcoming European challenge against Como.

The draw followed a 2-0 defeat against Atletico Madrid, leaving United desperate for a positive response. However, injury concerns affecting both teams could influence Wednesday’s Champions League encounter as preparations continue.

Cesc Fabregas will hope Como can take advantage of playing at home, although his squad also faces fitness uncertainties. Several players from both sides remain doubtful, potentially affecting their respective starting lineups.

Lisandro Martinez is among United’s latest concerns after being substituted at halftime against Leeds with a thigh problem. Carrick confirmed the issue, leaving the defender’s availability uncertain before the trip to Italy.

Kobbie Mainoo and Luke Shaw have also experienced fitness problems, missing the Leeds fixture. Shaw’s absence creates difficulties at left-back, while Mainoo’s potential unavailability would further restrict Carrick’s midfield selections.

Benjamin Sesko continues recovering from a shin injury and requires additional medical assessments before his return timeline becomes clearer. Patrick Dorgu remains sidelined with a hamstring problem sustained while representing Denmark internationally.

Manuel Ugarte is recovering from knee surgery, while veteran goalkeeper Tom Heaton has been unavailable because of a hamstring injury. Leny Yoro will also miss Wednesday’s match through suspension following his dismissal against Atletico Madrid.

Como have their own concerns following Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Fiorentina. Yan Couto withdrew during the warm-up after experiencing discomfort, while Trevoh Chalobah was substituted early, although their availability remains uncertain.

Attacking options Assane Diao and Moise Kean have also faced fitness concerns. Diao suffered a hamstring injury after scoring against Feyenoord, while Kean’s shin problem reportedly may not prevent his participation.

With United desperate to end their difficult run, Wednesday’s encounter presents Carrick with an opportunity to secure an important result despite several potential absences.
