It’s been a quiet transfer deadline day by Manchester United’s standards, but a potential deal is on the table for Leicester City midfield ace Louis Page.
Manchester United fans hoping for a new left-back signing will be disappointed, though the club have been active on transfer deadline day with talks ongoing over highly-rated midfielder Louis Page.
It is extremely rare for a club of United’s stature to recruit directly from League One, which is the third tier of English football, so Page could join a short list of players to have made the jump should a deal materialise in the coming hours.

The last time United signed a player directly from League One was Kellett, in 2015. He will go down as one of the most peculiar deals in the club’s recent history.
Kellett had been playing on loan at League Two outfit Plymouth Argyle when he was signed on deadline day in February 2015 by Louis van Gaal.
After joining United on loan from Bolton, where he developed as a young midfielder, Kellett merely bolstered United’s U21 side and made zero appearances for the first team.
In 2012, Ferguson signed 18-year-old Powell from Crewe Alexandra following promotion from League Two.
Powell signed for an initial £4m fee, rising to roughly £6m in add-ons.
Despite not making it at United, Powell had some highlights, including a cracking goal from distance on his debut in a 4-0 victory over Wigan Athletic.
He made a total of nine appearances for United across four seasons.
According to The Independent, United have made swift progress over a possible deadline-day deal for Page.
It is understood that the youngster could move to Old Trafford for a fee of more than £10m after talks between the two clubs advanced in recent hours.
This means there is a potential transfer for United fans to track in the closing hours of the summer transfer window.
