Malawi’s Afro R&B sensation Kelly Kambwiri, better known as Kell Kay, is poised to release a new song this Friday.
He will boldly drop the single “Ndalira” while his current chart-topper “Wale” still dominates the airwaves.
Breaking the mold, Kell Kay has decided to bypass the usual industry playbook. While most artists wait for a hit to run its course, Kell Kay believes the timing is right to unveil his second song of the year.
The upcoming track also marks a shift in tone. Whereas “Wale,” which features Zeze and Gibo Pearson, was a vibrant anthem for celebration, “Ndalira” is quieter and more reflective. Patient, calm, and thoughtful.
“Wale” was about celebration, about love that makes you dance. “Ndalira” comes from a different place, quieter, more patient. It’s the kind of song you play when you’re just thinking, Kell Kay explained.
