The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has said the quality of life of residents in Abuja has improved under the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
Citing the rehabilitation of the rail system and construction of roads across the nation’s capital, the Minister said Nigerians were wrong to measure improvement in quality of life solely by the number of people who own houses.
Speaking in a media chat in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, Wike responded to criticism of the Federal Government’s performance.

According to him, quality of life goes beyond providing housing for every citizen, noting that not everyone can own a house.
He noted that the roads constructed by the FCT administration had also improved residents’ quality of life by opening up previously inaccessible areas.
“This country, we are the problem. The rail was not working; this government fixed it.
“Quality of life is not about housing because everybody does not have a house. Why do we have to think that until everyone has a house, the quality of life has not improved?” he asked.
“Have the roads we have provided in the FCT not improved quality of life? People can now access where they could not access initially,” he said.
