Referee should have shown restraint with Oumar Nauffal red card – Winfred Dormon

Dreams FC coach Winfred Dormon believes the referee should have shown greater restraint before sending off Oumar Nauffal during Wednesdays 2-2 draw with Medeama SC.Nauffal was dismissed in the 55th minute at the Tuba Astro Turf, leaving Dreams FC to play the final stages of the Ghana Premier League fixture with 10 men.Despite the numerical disadvantage, Dreams FC remained competitive and eventually regained the lead through Abdul Razak Salifu in the 86th minute.But Medeama refused to give up and secured a point when Rahman Osman turned the ball into his own net in the 90th minute.Dormon was critical of the decision that resulted in the red card, although he stopped short of giving a definitive assessment of the incident.In my opinion, the referee should have exercised some restraint. But having said that, we kept pushing there. And we won it again with a decent, you know, thumping it in for Razak Salifu, Dormon said.He believes Dreams FC did enough to win the game but acknowledged the need to review the incident before making a stronger judgement.In my opinion, I need to watch the video again to be able to comment on that. It's very, very unfortunate that you put this kind of performance there against the left wing, and we couldn't win this game.The result leaves Dreams FC with one point from two matches and at the bottom of the table, while Medeama have two points.Dreams FC will face Bechem United in their next league game.
