Premier League side Manchester United were one of the 13 biggest-spending clubs this summer after Ineos completed their business in the transfer market.
The window closed for most of Europe on Tuesday, but the market does remain open — and active — in different regions around the world for the time being.
Ineos did not sign a left-back or a forward on deadline day — much to the dismay of Manchester United fans — but the Red Devils did make key acquisitions this summer.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s regime oversaw a major rebuild of the midfield in the United first-team squad, as Red Devils boss Michael Carrick saw the arrival of three new players.

Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans arrived from Chelsea and Aston Villa respectively, while Carlos Baleba was signed from Brighton in August.
Ineos also made other signings for the Red Devils in the summer, including Manchester United talent Tynan Thompson and shot-stopper Karl Darlow.
Amazon Prime Video’s account on X, formerly known as Twitter, shared an infographic of the ‘top-spending’ clubs in the world in the summer.
United In Focus converted the data from euros to pound sterling and the Red Devils were the 12th biggest spenders before the window closed on 1st September.

United did outspend Brighton by £6m, but the Red Devils were behind nine other Premier League clubs this summer when it came to spending money in the market.
The Red Devils’ first two opponents of the 2026-27 campaign — Hull City and Ipswich Town — both spent more in the window than United as well.
United suffered a 2-0 defeat to Hull City in their Premier League opener last month before the Red Devils bounced back with their 5-2 victory over Ipswich Town.
Following United’s win against Ipswich at Old Trafford, the Red Devils will now visit the Hill Dickinson Stadium to face Everton in the Premier League on Sunday.
