Ghana forward Mohammed Fuseini has completed a season-long loan move to English Championship side Derby County from Belgian champions Union Saint-Gilloise on transfer deadline day.
The 24-year-old Black Stars attacker sealed the switch on Tuesday after a proposed move to fellow Championship club Birmingham City collapsed, allowing Derby to secure his signature before the transfer window closed.
Fuseini brings versatility to Derby’s attack, with the ability to operate across the front line and on either wing as the club prepares for the 2026-27 Championship campaign.
He made 27 appearances in all competitions for Union Saint-Gilloise last season, scoring three goals and featuring in the UEFA Champions League against Bayern Munich and Atalanta.
During his time in Belgium, Fuseini scored 15 goals, helped Union Saint-Gilloise win the Belgian Pro League and Belgian Cup, and earned his first call-up to Ghana’s senior national team.
The striker began his career at Ghana’s renowned Right to Dream Academy before joining Austrian side Sturm Graz in February 2022.
He made 27 first-team appearances for Sturm Graz and was part of the squad that won the Austrian Bundesliga title in the 2023-24 season.
A six-month loan spell at Danish club Randers FC followed, where his performances attracted the attention of Union Saint-Gilloise.
The Brussels-based club signed him in 2024, and Fuseini went on to enjoy a successful spell in Belgium, winning both the league and domestic cup during his first two seasons before making the move to English football.
