Former Argentina tennis star Juan Martín del Potro has advised Carlos Alcaraz to be patient with his right wrist injury and avoid rushing his return to the tennis tour.
Recall that Alcaraz recently returned to competition at the US Open following a lengthy layoff of more than four months since his last match in April.

The Argentine shared his own painful experiences to help the young Spaniard protect his long-term career.
“I have a close relationship with him. We crossed paths in the United States while he was still wearing the brace and my advice was: ‘Patience with the wrist and don’t touch it,” Del Potro told La Nacion.
” I suffered it myself and at that time, because I didn’t want to stop or didn’t want to lose that No. 4 or No. 5 ranking, I was doing things that Carlitos doesn’t have to do today.
“Also, with No. 1 and No. 2 being so far ahead of the rest, they can take a few months and it won’t change much in the rankings. So stopping for these four months was an intelligent decision.”

Alcaraz holds 27 career singles titles, including seven Grand Slam championships, making him the youngest man in history to complete a Career Grand Slam.
He completed the set at 22 years and 272 days old by winning the 2026 Australian Open.
