Everton manager David Moyes has a longstanding history with Manchester United and Sir Alex Ferguson ahead of his latest reunion with the Red Devils.

David Moyes crossed paths with legendary former Red Devils manager Sir Alex Ferguson plenty of times during his first managerial spell at Everton.

The 63-year-old Scottish manager would then become the man to replace Ferguson in the Old Trafford dugout after the end of the 2012-13 Premier League season.

However, Moyes’ reign as Manchester United manager lasted only 10 months before the former Everton boss was axed by the Premier League club in 2014.

David Moyes was able to bounce back in his managerial career after he failed to live up to the high expectations of following in the footsteps of Sir Alex Ferguson.

The former Manchester United boss has crossed paths with the Red Devils on 18 occasions in competitive competitions since Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.

Moyes had spells at Sunderland and West Ham (twice) and his second run at Everton during his encounters with the Red Devils in the Premier League, League Cup and FA Cup.

• Premier League: 15 matches played — 3 wins, 3 draws and 9 defeats
• FA Cup: 2 matches played — 0 wins, 0 draws and 2 defeats

The former Sunderland and West Ham boss has won only four of his last 18 encounters with United, while Moyes has overseen 11 defeats and three draws.

Moyes suffered two losses in his only two matches against United as Sunderland boss, while he has chalked up a win, a draw and a defeat in his second Everton run.

The Scotsman faced United 13 times as West Ham manager and oversaw eight losses, two draws and three wins across his two spells at the Hammers.

Moyes will cross paths with United once again on Sunday afternoon for the Premier League clash at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, with kick-off slated for 2pm UK time.
