City’s latest attempt to tempt Man United’s ‘next JJ Gabriel’ ends up backfiring with reality check

Man Utd are all but resigned to losing JJ Gabriel, but their city rivals in Manchester have been dealt a reality check in their attempts to recruit United’s next crown jewel of the academy.
The sobering reality for Man Utd is slowly setting in as JJ Gabriel looks set to leave the club after burning all bridges at Old Trafford.
A minor positive is that he can’t join an English side immediately, so his eventual destination is likely to be in Europe, most probably Spain.
The same couldn’t be said for United’s next great wonderkid, whom City tried to lure recently. Fortunately, their attempt backfired spectacularly.
Man City get battered in front of Jaice Dore
Jaice Dore is one of the most exciting young talents at Carrington right now, playing on the right wing and already making waves as a 15-year-old by filling Gabriel’s shoes.
United signed Dore from Man City when he was even younger, but until he signs a scholarship contract, his English nationality makes him fair game for signing with any team.
Jaice Dore was recently seen at the Etihad Stadium for PSG’s visit to Man City, and the club were probably hoping to make an impression and tempt him away from Old Trafford.
As it turns out, their attempt backfired spectacularly, with PSG battering City 4-2 in their own backyard after being 3-0 up on one occasion.
This was City’s first game at home since they were found guilty of those charges, and Pep Guardiola also attended to show solidarity to a club that has already been found guilty.
The charges surrounding the team, the dull atmosphere at the stadium, and the general trajectory of City would have hardly been a ringing endorsement for the club in front of Dore’s eyes.
Unlike Gabriel, whose camp made unwanted noises ever since he was 14, Dore’s camp has largely stayed professional as well, which is another good sign for Man Utd.
Of course, United will need to be better than they have been and trust the youth more, but as it stands, City’s latest attempt to lure Dore has clearly backfired.
