HARARE, Aug. 26 (NewsDay Live) – Zanu PF spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa says the signing of Constitutional Amendment Act No. 3 has ushered Zimbabwe into an era where economic development will take precedence over politics.
Mutsvangwa told journalists at a press conference that the enactment of the law had brought political certainty, allowing President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his government to focus more on economic development.
“We are in the era of the end of politics and the beginning of economics,” he said.
He said the political certainty created by CAB 3 would boost investor confidence and help sustain Zimbabwe’s economic recovery.
Mutsvangwa said the country could now focus on attracting investment, creating jobs and expanding opportunities for young people.
“It means capital will come to Zimbabwe in dollops which may have never been imagined into Zimbabwe and when you bring capital you change people’s lives,” he said.
He also highlighted Zimbabwe’s lithium and other critical minerals as key drivers of future economic growth.
Mutsvangwa said the enactment of CAB 3 had removed political distractions, allowing the government to concentrate on development.
“With CAB 3 out of the way and the Act now in place, he can be more focused. There are no more cobwebs,” he said.
He said the development would strengthen Zimbabwe’s position on the regional and global economic stage, with greater emphasis now being placed on investment and economic growth.
