Sarkodie Faces Backlash for Choosing Kenya Radio Tour Over Best Friend Efya’s Wedding

Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has come under heavy criticism on social media after reportedly missing the wedding of his longtime friend and fellow musician Efya while travelling to Kenya for a radio tour.

The rapper is currently in Kenya promoting his music, but his absence from Efya’s wedding in Ghana has disappointed several fans and social media commentators who expected him to be present for the special occasion.

The controversy has attracted attention because of the long-standing friendship between Sarkodie and Efya, who have shared a close relationship within Ghana’s entertainment industry over the years.

Many people believe that attending the wedding of a longtime friend should have been a priority, especially considering the importance of the occasion.

Some social media users have questioned why Sarkodie chose his promotional activities in Kenya over Efya’s wedding, particularly because he was reportedly aware of the wedding date.

The rapper’s absence has therefore sparked conversations about friendship, loyalty and the importance of showing up for people during their special moments.

Among those who have openly expressed disappointment are social media commentators Trouble Carlos and PrisyWan.

The two commentators have criticised Sarkodie over his decision, with PrisyWan and Trouble Carlos expressing the view that the rapper has disappointed them big time.

Their reactions have added more attention to the controversy, with several people joining the discussion and sharing their opinions about the situation.

While some fans have defended Sarkodie, arguing that professional commitments and international music promotion are important for an artiste’s career, others insist that he could have made arrangements to attend the wedding before travelling to Kenya.

For critics, the issue is not necessarily about Sarkodie’s decision to promote his music outside Ghana but whether he made enough effort to support someone considered a longtime friend.

Efya’s wedding has been a major talking point among entertainment followers, and Sarkodie’s absence has unexpectedly become one of the biggest talking points surrounding the occasion.

The controversy has also raised questions about how celebrities balance their professional responsibilities with personal relationships.

Although Sarkodie has not been reported to have publicly explained his absence, the criticism continues to generate reactions online.

For now, the discussion remains divided, with some people insisting that work should come first while others believe certain moments in friendship deserve special attention.
