However, Port City goalkeeper Abdul Aziz came to his sides rescue with a superb double save to keep the deficit at just one goal.Port Citys equaliser eventually arrived in the 66th minute, with captain Hamza Zakari making amends for the defensive error that had led to the penalty. The skipper showed great composure with a towering header to find the back of the net and restore parity for the home side.The two debutants battled for the winning goal in the closing stages, but neither could find a breakthrough as the points were shared.Port City coach Christopher Ennin will be satisfied with a point from his sides historic Premier League debut, although Karim Zito will be left to rue the missed opportunity from the penalty spot, which could have given Ashantigold a two-goal cushion.Port City will face another stern test in their next league outing when they travel to defending champions Medeama SC, while FC Ashantigold will return to Obuasi to host Vision FC.
