A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State, Hajiya Hadiza Liman, has announced her defection to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Addressing newsmen at her residence in Gusau on Friday, Liman said she moved with her supporters from 14 local government areas of the state.
She cited alleged neglect by Governor Dauda Lawal, saying they had given their full support to the governor while in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which led to his emergence in 2023.
“Since we followed Governor Dauda Lawal from PDP to APC, Governor Dauda Lawal has failed to take care of us,” she said.
Liman expressed optimism that the NDC and its governorship candidate, Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa, would secure victory in the 2027 governorship election in Zamfara State.
She urged residents of the state to rally support for Marafa ahead of the polls.
