VP Ndejembi lands in New York to address the UN General Assembly

**NEW YORK: **TANZANIA’S Vice President, Deogratius Ndejembi, has arrived in New York, United States, where he is representing President Samia Suluhu Hassan at the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA81), being held at the United Nations Headquarters.

Upon his arrival at John F. Kennedy International Airport, Vice President Ndejembi was received by Tanzania’s Ambassador to the United States, Elsie Kanza; Tanzania’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, Ambassador Togolani Mavura; and other government officials.

The UN General Assembly session brings together heads of state, government leaders and other senior representatives to discuss a range of global issues, including economic and political affairs, environmental challenges and human rights.

This year’s session is being held under the theme, “Restoring Trust, Managing Transformation: A United Nations That Delivers for All.”

The theme calls for renewed international trust and cooperation while addressing major transformations taking place around the world, including the rapid development and expansion of artificial intelligence (AI).

During his visit, Vice President Ndejembi is expected to address the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly. He will also participate in a number of high-level engagements, including the General Debate, side meetings and bilateral discussions with other leaders and representatives.
