JUST- IN: Death Of 37 Artisan Miners: New NSCDC Commandant Assumes Office

Following the death of 37 suspects in the custody of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC), a new State Commandant AS Kabara have been redeployed to Niger State.

This coming on the heels of the arrest of no fewer than 20 officials who were to answer questions over the incident as both state and the ministry of interior begun investigation into the incident.

The new commandant has formally assumed duty and taken over the leadership of the Command from Commandant Suberu Siyaka Aniviye, whom it was learnt was among officers taken to Abuja for questioning

Meanwhile , the commandant Kabara , expressed sadness over the loss of lives and extended his heartfelt sympathy to the families of the deceased and everyone affected by the unfortunate incident

The assumption of office comes at a particularly sensitive period for the Command, following the unfortunate deaths of 37 suspects in custody
