Nkwantakese Chief Supports 81 Deserving BECE Candidates with GH¢34,100

Nana Boakye Yam Ababio, the Chief of Nkwantakese in the Afigya Kwabre South District has provided financial support to BECE candidates in the community who obtained single-digit aggregate and gained admission to Senior High Schools.

A total of 81 students benefited from the support package, which amounted to GH¢34,100.

Under the scheme, candidates who obtained aggregate 6 received GH¢700, those with aggregate 7 received GH¢500, aggregate 8 students received GH¢400 while those who had aggregate 9 received GH¢300.

According to the chief, the gesture is aimed at encouraging and motivating students in the community to improve upon academic performance and raise the standard of education.

Speaking to the media at Nkwantakese, Nana Boakye Yam said education is key to the development of every society and the country as a whole, and that he has decided to invest in the youth within his jurisdiction to complement government efforts at improving education in the community.

He stated that his priority and focus as Chief of the community is to improve education and create jobs for the youth, and urged stakeholders and corporate organisations interested in investing in the youth to come to Nkwantakese.

He disclosed that he has initiated programmes and projects including classroom blocks, KVIP toilet facilities, bungalows for teachers and a clinic, which are giving the community a facelift.

He said the support for students in the community will not be a nine-day wonder but will be sustained to serve as motivation and encouragement to all school-going children in the community and beyond, especially the needy and less privileged.
