Apple has begun incorporating Morocco’s 20% value-added tax into the proceeds paid to developers and will adjust some App Store prices from September 14.
The company said developer proceeds from eligible applications and in-app purchases in Morocco were modified on August 27 to account for the tax.
Apple will also update its Paid Applications Agreement to state that it collects and remits applicable Moroccan taxes. Translations of the amended agreement are expected within one month.
From September 14, Apple will recalculate Moroccan prices for applications and in-app purchases when developers have not selected Morocco as their base storefront. The company did not disclose how much individual prices could change.
When Morocco is the base storefront, prices charged in Morocco will remain unchanged. Apple will instead adjust prices in other markets to maintain their relationship with the Moroccan base price.
The automatic changes will not apply to renewable subscriptions. Prices will also remain unchanged in markets where developers manage them manually instead of using Apple’s automated equalization system.
Developers can view the planned prices in the Pricing and Availability section of App Store Connect and retain the ability to change them.
