Ssimbwa Set for Sensational URA FC Return as Kintu Faces Imminent Axe

Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club (URA FC) is on the verge of re-appointing veteran tactician Sam Ssimbwa as their new head coach, with current manager Jimmy Kintu set to be relieved of his duties following a disastrous start to the season.

The club hierarchy has reportedly lost patience with Kintu, who took over the reins from Hussein Mbalangu at the end of last season. The Tax Collectors have endured a miserable run of form, managing just a single victory in their opening six matches.

The tipping point for the URA board came on Saturday following a disappointing 3-2 defeat to newly-promoted Blacks Power FC at the Bukedea Sports Complex. The loss left the four-time Uganda Premier League champions languishing in the relegation zone with a mere four points from a possible 18.

The Return of a Proven Winner

In a bid to salvage their season, URA FC has turned to a familiar face. Ssimbwa, a former national team assistant coach, is highly regarded at the club after a successful first spell between 2018 and 2021, where he consistently kept the Tax Collectors in title conversations.

To bolster the new technical bench, Ssimbwa will be assisted by **Paul Kiwanuka. **Kiwanuka brings a wealth of top-flight experience, having previously managed Soltilo Bright Stars and served on the technical staff at Vipers SC.

Baptism of Fire at Nakivubo

There will be no time for honeymoon periods for the incoming technical team. Ssimbwa and Kiwanuka are expected to be in the dugout as early as **Tuesday, October 27, **when URA FC faces a tricky test against UPDF FC.

The highly anticipated fixture will take place at the Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo, where the Tax Collectors will be desperate to secure maximum points and begin their climb out of the drop zone.
