The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Disu, has met with Grammy Award-winning Nigerian singer Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, to discuss how the creative industry can help rebuild public trust in the police force.
The meeting took place at the Police House in Lagos on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
Disu explained that the engagement is part of his administration’s efforts to collaborate with key stakeholders to improve the image of the police and strengthen public confidence in the institution, particularly among young Nigerians.
The IGP stated that the entertainment industry’s strong influence among the youth could be used to shape conversations, build bridges, and foster better understanding between police officers and the public.
In response to the initiative, Burna Boy expressed his support and said he is willing to contribute to efforts to improve relations between the police and Nigerians, especially the youth.
