The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has outlined key organisational arrangements for the 2026 CAF Super Cup final between South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns and Algerian side USM Alger.
The highly anticipated encounter is scheduled to take place in South Africa on November 8, 2026, with both clubs required to comply with CAF’s operational and logistical guidelines ahead of the continental showdown.
October 16 was the deadline for both teams to submit their preliminary player lists to CAF for the match.
Under the arrangements, Mamelodi Sundowns must hand over the stadium and training facilities to CAF three days before the final.
The South African club is also required to provide two training pitches with playing surfaces similar to that of the match venue, with one reserved exclusively for USM Alger.
Sundowns will be responsible for arranging accommodation for approximately 18 CAF officials, including referees, Video Assistant Referee (VAR) officials and technicians.
CAF, however, will handle accommodation for its official delegations in Johannesburg or Pretoria. The hosts must also provide buses for at least 50 members of the USM Alger delegation, alongside a car for the Algerian club’s head of delegation.
Meanwhile, the South African Football Association (SAFA) and Mamelodi Sundowns are expected to submit their security plans and the number of personnel to CAF for approval.
Match tickets must be made available five days before kick-off, while USM Alger supporters will receive five per cent of the stadium’s capacity, with their allocation located on the eastern side of the venue.
CAF’s regulations also stipulate that all revenue generated from the match will go to Mamelodi Sundowns.
The continental football governing body will provide the official match balls, while both clubs are required to submit five signed jerseys each for advertising purposes.
Furthermore, only CAF-authorised advertising will be permitted at the venue from three days before the match.
A Man of the Match award will be presented following the encounter, while CAF’s commercial department will coordinate promotional activities surrounding the final.
The match will also feature extensive broadcast coverage, with 28 cameras scheduled to be installed at the stadium.
The final is expected to be broadcast worldwide, with CAF set to announce the official television rights holders in due course.
