Chrishell Stause and G Flip Split After Three Years of Marriage as Insider Claims She Made Most of the Effort

Former Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause has confirmed the end of her relationship with Australian musician G Flip after three years of marriage, revealing that she remains in love with the singer and is still trying to understand why they separated.

The 45-year-old reality television personality announced the split in an emotional Instagram video on Monday, saying the couple had agreed to handle their separation with love and respect.

“G and I are no longer together, and we have agreed to treat this public separation with love and respect for each other,” Stause said. “That’s not hard for me because I am in love with this person.”

She also admitted that she did not have all the information or reasons behind the breakup and described herself as feeling “a little bit of a failure” as she struggled to process the situation.

Insider Says Stause Made Repeated Trips to Australia

A music industry insider told the Daily Mail that Stause repeatedly travelled from Los Angeles to Australia to spend time with G Flip, whose real name is Georgia Claire Flipo, as their professional commitments kept them in different parts of the world.

According to the source, Stause often made the effort to maintain the relationship, travelling to Australia for performances, industry events and time together.

“G’s got heaps of Aussie shows this month and is staying here for the time being,” the insider said. “Chrishell was always the one coming down and making the effort to be with them and make it work.”

The source added that Stause had embraced Australia because it was an important part of G Flip’s life, rather than treating her visits as occasional holidays.

Couple Appeared Happy During Recent Australian Festival

Stause travelled to Wollongong earlier this month to support G Flip at the Yours and Owls Festival, where the musician headlined on October 3 and 4.

She also shared footage from backstage on her Instagram Stories, showing her supporting the performer during the event.

A music industry source said the couple appeared happy together during the festival, making news of their separation unexpected.

“It’s so sad they seemed so happy when I saw them in Wollongong together,” the insider told the Daily Mail.

The source said the pair had continued spending time together and had appeared affectionate in public shortly before the announcement.

Stause Built Professional Connections in Australia

During their relationship, Stause became a regular visitor to Australia, accompanying G Flip to events including the ARIA Awards and attending performances across the country.

She also took on work in Australia, presenting the reunion special for the dating series Love Triangle, which aired last year on streaming service Stan.

According to the insider, these professional commitments reflected Stause’s efforts to establish a life that accommodated both their careers, despite her own work being based primarily in the United States.

The source said Stause had been proud of G Flip’s achievements and had made a substantial effort to support the musician.

G Flip Reportedly Initiated the Breakup

While Stause’s public statement did not explain what led to the separation, a report by TMZ said G Flip had decided to end the relationship.

Sources close to the couple also told the Daily Mail that the musician initiated the breakup.

The couple had appeared to be continuing their relationship shortly before the announcement, including sharing moments from date nights on social media.

The insider said there had been little publicly visible indication that the marriage was about to end.

G Flip Says They Will Always Love Stause

G Flip, who uses they/them pronouns, later addressed the separation in a statement expressing affection for Stause and appreciation for their time together.

“I will always love her, we will always share a special connection and I cherish our memories together deeply,” the musician said.

Stause also said her feelings had not changed despite the breakup.

“I will always love G, and I don’t ever really see that changing,” she said in her Instagram video.

She added that she needed time to heal and understand what had happened, describing the experience as painful.

Couple Went Public in 2022 and Married in Las Vegas in 2023

Stause and G Flip first made their relationship public in May 2022. They married in an intimate ceremony in Las Vegas in 2023, although the ceremony was not legally binding.

They subsequently celebrated their relationship with additional ceremonies in Australia and Los Angeles.

During their time together, the couple also discussed their plans to start a family. Stause had previously spoken publicly about their in-vitro fertilisation journey and their hopes of becoming parents.

Split Follows Stause’s Decision to Leave Selling Sunset Behind

The separation comes shortly after Stause discussed her departure from Selling Sunset, the Netflix reality series that brought her widespread recognition.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter at its Creator A-List Party last Thursday, she said she did not plan to watch the show’s upcoming tenth season after leaving the programme the previous season.

Stause said she wished the production well and did not intend her decision to watch no longer as a criticism of the series.

“I hope they have an amazing season,” she said, adding that sometimes it was necessary to let go of something one had loved.

G Flip Prepares for More Australian Performances

G Flip is scheduled to continue performing in Australia following the separation, including an appearance in Margaret River on October 31 and support slots on Robbie Williams’s upcoming stadium tour.

Stause was previously married to actor Justin Hartley, known for This Is Us. Their divorce was finalised in 2021 after nearly two years of marriage.

The Daily Mail said it had contacted the former couple for further comment.
