ZINARA targets 1 million compliant vehicles through ZAS campaign

HARARE, Aug. 27 (NewsDay Live) — The Zimbabwe National Road Administration (ZINARA) has intensified its vehicle licensing campaign at the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show (ZAS), targeting one million compliant vehicles as it seeks to improve compliance, road safety and revenue collection.

Running under the #BeOneInAMillion initiative, the campaign encourages motorists to regularise their vehicle licensing status, clear outstanding arrears and take advantage of penalty waivers and discounted renewals.

ZINARA said the campaign was designed to bring more motorists into compliance while making it easier for them to settle outstanding obligations.

“We’re on a mission to license 1,000,000 vehicles, and every compliant motorist gets us closer to safer, better-connected roads,” ZINARA said.

As the third day of the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show got underway, the road authority urged motorists to visit its stand and take advantage of special compliance offers.

One of the key incentives is a 100% penalty waiver, allowing motorists to clear historical arrears without paying penalty fees.

“Clear all historical arrears with ZERO penalty fees across ALL vehicle classes,” ZINARA said, adding that the offer was available at all its offices.

Motorists attending the agricultural show can also access a 50% discount on current licence renewals for vehicles weighing less than 2,250 kilogrammes.

The authority said the discount was exclusive to its ZAS stand and available for a limited period.

For motorists unable to attend the show, ZINARA is offering a 25% discount on current renewals at its licensing offices and tollgates countrywide.

“Can’t make it to the show? Enjoy 25% off current renewals at any ZINARA licensing office or tollgate across the country,” the authority said.

ZINARA urged motorists to use the campaign to regularise their vehicle status and drive legally on the country’s roads.

“Drive with peace of mind — visit our stand today!” the authority said.

The campaign comes as authorities continue pushing for greater vehicle compliance, with properly licensed vehicles expected to contribute towards the financing and maintenance of Zimbabwe’s road network.

Through the #BeOneInAMillion campaign, ZINARA is calling on motorists to become part of its target of one million compliant vehicles and contribute towards the development of safer and better-connected roads.
