According to a probable-cause statement, Logan was walking with family near Marine View Drive South after leaving a bar when he saw an altercation outside the All-Star Bar.
The statement says Logan tried to stop the assault, then ran toward his car after telling his family, “He’s got a gun.” Family members told investigators they saw two men chase him down and shoot him.
Investigators reviewed surveillance video that they say showed the confrontation and the shooting. Police recovered 17 fired 9 mm shell casings near the scene, along with bullet fragments, the statement says.
Stell Jr., 29, is charged with first-degree murder and second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm. Keenan Stell, 42, is charged with first-degree murder and second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm, according to the filings.
Prosecutors asked that Derrick Stell Jr. be held without bail, citing prior convictions. For Keenan Stell, they requested $3 million bail, an amount the filing says a judge set at his first appearance.
