6 things we love about the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 Series
Check out the entire Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 Series family.
Earlier this month, we brought you a dedicated article about the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 Max. What we didn’t tell you at the time, is that this is one of three machines available now in the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 Series.
The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6, Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 Pro, and the previously-covered Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 Max are all available in South Africa right now from the country’s favourite online retailer, Takealot.
So today, let’s not focus on one machine, but look at the entire Robot Vacuum 6 Series and what makes them so special.
6. Plenty powerful
In life, sometimes more is less, but when it comes to the suction power of your robot vacuum, more is definitely more. The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 and Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 Pro both feature exceptional power values at 30 000Pa.
This is enough to get difficult items – such as small dirt particles and hair – out of tough floor materials, such as thick carpeting. This raw power is also complemented by additional hardware such as the anti-tangle brushes, which keep the vacuuming mechanisms going where other robot vacuums would foul up.
The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 Max takes this to the next level, increasing suction power to 35 000Pa, offering some of the best vacuum cleaning ever.
5. Not just a vacuum
While you already know and love Xiaomi’s range of Robot Vacuums, that name leaves out the fact that these machines can also mop. All three machines contain internal water reservoirs which use special cleaning AI systems to dispense just the right amount of water into the floor, depending on the floor type and cleaning needs. A rotating mop head then applies constant pressure and constant water levels at high speeds for a superior clean.
Xiaomi has constantly improved its mopping system with a special built-in scraper, which cleans the mop head as it works. Combining this with the constant supply of fresh water ensures that this cleaning machine is always working with spotless tools.
4. AI in your friendly cleaning robot
Love or hate artificial intelligence (AI), but we think everyone can agree that it’s best use is to finally deliver robot butlers to clean the house. These Xiaomi are very close to this dream, with the Robot Vacuum 6 Series using AI models to train for optimal cleaning.
This intelligent software is combined with a variety of sensors, cameras, LiDAR and other detection hardware across the range, all working within Xiaomi’s Home app to seamless smart home integration. You can also command this intelligence with your voice over Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
3. Every nook, every cranny
Xiaomi has always had a difficult problem on their hands: fitting a round peg into a square hole. The circular chassis of the Robot Vacuums is ideal for many things, but it makes it difficult to get into the corners of rooms.
The solution? The Robot Vacuum 6 Series makes use of expanding arms to get into those corners, and all other hard-to-reach places. The arms are fitted with rollers and brushes to either clean on their own, or direct the dirt towards the mopping or vacuuming systems.

2. A home for all
One of the biggest problems with older cleaning robots was the need to manually empty their vacuum bags and water reservoirs, and then fill them up with clean water. It took time and could get your hands dirty, both of which defeat the point of the automated cleaning robot.
This was solved with base stations which could automate this process, but these have traditionally been locked away for only the most expensive options.
All three Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 Series options on sale right now come with their own base stations which, depending on the model, offer charging, emptying of the vacuum bags and water management for mopping.
The base stations even use high temperatures and high speed mechanics to wash and dry the mopping head, continuing the unbroken system of cleanliness.
1. Go-go robot legs
If you weren’t sold on the robot arms we mentioned earlier, what about robot legs?
The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 Series all feature mechanical systems to raise their height. This allows them to get over obstacles and reach more places to clean in your home, office or school – both situations where lesser machines would need human intervention.
The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 and Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 Pro can both raise up to four centimetres, using robot legs and an expanding omnidirectional wheel receptively. The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 Max, on the other hand, has the tallest robotic legs, able to climb up to six centimetres instead.
There’s a lot more about these machines we didn’t get to speak about today, such as their long battery lives, controllable cleaning schedules, child- and pet-friendly functionality, and more.
It’s up to you to see these details and then add to cart!
