Angolan engineering and technology company, COPIA Group of Companies, officially opened its Windhoek office last week as Namibia’s energy sector enters a new phase of development for strengthening Africa-to-Africa energy collaboration.
COPIA operates across the energy, oil and gas, mining and infrastructure sectors. The official opening of the Windhoek office came after the company established COPIA Energy Services Namibia in Windhoek, marking a key step in its Southern African growth strategy.
COPIA delivers engineering consultancy, inspection and supervision, project management, industrial services and digital solutions for complex energy projects, including its proprietary COPIA SEIS and COPIA DynamicSim technologies, which apply advanced data and artificial intelligence to energy sector operations.
The launch coincided with the Namibia Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition 2026 (18–20 August, Windhoek), where COPIA exhibited at Stand D05.
At the conference, COPIA founder and CEO, Adilson Nelumba, spoke in the session on independents and new entrants unlocking value in frontier basins.
“Our expansion into Namibia is more than entering a new market. It is about building relationships, sharing knowledge and demonstrating that African companies can develop solutions for African energy markets.
Africa has the talent, technical expertise and entrepreneurial capacity to develop solutions for its own markets,” Nelumbu said.
With growing exploration activity placing Namibia among Africa’s most closely watched emerging energy markets, COPIA’s Windhoek presence positions the company to work directly with Namibian stakeholders and build long-term local partnerships built on knowledge transfer, skills development and technology sharing.
The expansion reflects the principle that African companies can build for Africa, innovate for Africa and compete beyond Africa. COPIA Group of Companies is an Angolan engineering and technology company operating across the oil and gas, mining, energy and infrastructure sectors. The company combines multidisciplinary expertise with technology to support operational efficiency, safety and sustainability across complex projects in Africa.
