Ethiopian Airlines announced the expansion of its services to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), with addition of a new daily flight on Addis Ababa-Kinshasa route.
“Ethiopian Airlines is increasing its service to the DRC with daily midday flights to and from Kinshasa starting Dec. 1, 2026,” the airline said on Thursday.
The latest service expansion brings the Ethiopian flag carrier’s services to and from the DRC’s capital Kinshasa to 21 weekly flights.
Ethiopian Airlines has been serving DR Congo since the launch of its inaugural flight to Kinshasa back in 1975, offering connections to its extensive global network across five continents.
Besides dedicated passenger and cargo services to Kinshasa, Ethiopian flies to Lubumbashi, Goma, and other destinations in the central African nation.
Ethiopian Airlines also partnered with the DRC government in December 2024 to launch Air Congo. This initiative aligns with its Vision 2035 strategy, which aims to establish multiple hubs across Africa, complementing existing partnerships with ASKY Airlines in Lomé, Malawi Airlines in Lilongwe, and Zambia Airways in Lusaka.
