American R&B singer Freddie Jackson, famous for his hit song “You Are My Lady,” has died at the age of 69.
Jackson died on Monday, October 5, 2026, with his family announcing his death in a statement published on his official Instagram page on Tuesday, October 6.
Describing him as “more than a legendary voice,” the family praised his generous soul and expressed gratitude to his fans worldwide.
The statement read:
“It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Freddie Jackson, who went home to rest last night. Freddie was more than a legendary voice. He was a kind, generous soul who loved his fans, his family, his friends, and his music with everything he had.”
The family did not disclose the cause of death. It said details of his funeral arrangements would be announced in the coming days.
