<div class="text-long"><p><span>JOHANNESBURG - </span>Sergeant Thabiso Mohale of the Gauteng Crime Scene Investigations Unit is expected to take the stand in the trial-within-a-trial of the attempted murder case involving businessman Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala.</p><p>Mohale is set to testify about photographs he took at the scene where alleged hitman Musa Kekana was arrested.</p><p>Matlala, his wife Tsakani, Kekana, Tiego Mabusela, and Nthabiseng Nzama face 25 counts linked to alleged botched assassination attempts.</p><p>The five appeared in the Johannesburg High Court on Tuesday as proceedings continued.</p><blockquote><p><span><strong>READ | </strong></span><a href="https://www.enca.com/news-top-stories/new-witness-take-stand-cat-matlala-trial-resumes"><span><strong>New witness to take stand as 'Cat' Matlala trial resumes</strong></span></a></p></blockquote><p>Kekana has alleged that police suffocated and tortured him during his arrest, claims now being tested in the trial-within-a-trial.</p><p>On Tuesday, paramedic Mary Nkgapele, who treated Kekana at the scene, testified that he did not complain of being in pain.</p><p>However, Nkgapele conceded that she should have recorded Kekana’s allegations of police assault in her report.</p><p>Mohale’s evidence is expected to focus on photographs taken during the arrest and could shed light on Kekana’s condition at the scene.</p><p><strong>Read more: </strong><a href="https://www.enca.com/news-top-stories-videos/teffos-surprise-matlala-trial-intervention-blocked"><strong>Teffo's surprise Matlala trial intervention blocked</strong></a></p></div>
