A group of aspirants who accepted the consensus arrangement in the Kaduna State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared its readiness to set aside personal ambitions and deploy its political structures to secure the party’s victory in the 2027 elections.
The aspirants, under the APC Consensus Aspirants Forum, said they would transform the structures built during their respective campaigns into a grassroots mobilisation force for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Uba Sani and other APC candidates.
The chairman of the forum, Godwin Luka (Mai Solar), made the announcement at a press conference at the Governor Uba Sani Campaign Office in Kaduna, where he said the decision was based on their commitment to the party and their belief in the performance of APC governments at the federal and state levels.
He said members of the forum had accepted the consensus process initiated by Governor Uba Sani and stepped aside to allow other party members to emerge as the APC’s flag-bearers, stressing that their decision should translate into greater responsibility towards the party.
Luka said the aspirants would mobilise at the polling-unit, ward, local government and community levels, while also engaging residents, listening to their concerns and communicating the achievements of the APC administrations.
He cited ongoing federal projects, including the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road and the Sokoto-Badagry corridor, as well as interventions in education, as reasons the forum resolved to support President Tinubu’s re-election bid.
At the state level, he highlighted Governor Uba Sani’s reported interventions in roads, healthcare, education and agriculture, including road projects across the 23 local government areas, the renovation and upgrading of primary healthcare facilities, the construction of classrooms and support for farmers.
The chairman called on APC members to maintain unity, discipline and reconciliation ahead of the elections, saying the consensus arrangement should not be viewed as the end of political participation but as the beginning of a greater responsibility to strengthen the party and secure victory in 2027.
