Bursaspor Coach Hails Iheanacho’s Goal-Scoring Impact
Bursaspor manager Mustafa Er has praised Kelechi Iheanacho for the form he has shown since joining the Turkish side, saying the Nigeria striker is delivering exactly what the club hoped for.
Iheanacho arrived on a free transfer in the summer and has quickly become a key part of Bursaspor’s promotion push. The 30-year-old has scored 12 goals and added two assists in just nine league appearances.
Er said the club worked hard to secure the signing and thanked the management for getting it done. “We transferred Iheanacho so that he would score goals. We worked very hard for that transfer. We also need to thank our management,” he told the club’s official website.
The coach also revealed that several clubs were interested in the forward before he chose Bursaspor, with the size of the club playing an important role in his decision. Er added that the team is getting the contribution it wanted.
Er further highlighted the squad’s improvement in spirit and productivity as Bursaspor continue their bid for promotion. He expressed hope that Iheanacho will maintain his scoring run in the next fixture.
“Iheanacho continues to score. I hope he scores this week too. We have a positive team,” Er said. “There is tremendous progress in team spirit. Productivity is also increasing. People are more productive when they are happy. We win as a team.”
