The boutique was managed by witnesses identified as Dorcas Acheampomaa, Alberta Oblitey and Kelvin Bempong Kwabia.
The prosecution said at about 12:25 a.m. on August 15, 2026 Mutari entered the boutique through a back window of the washroom and stole clothing items valued at GH¢100,000.
He allegedly handed the stolen items to David through the same window, after which the two packed the items into sacks and left the scene.
The prosecution told the court that the incident was captured on the complainant’s closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras.
During investigations, Mutari reportedly told the police that David sold the stolen clothing to two other persons, identified as Katumi Issahaku and Nasiru Abdul-Latif, and gave him GH¢150 from the proceeds.
Police intelligence subsequently led to Mutari’s arrest at his hideout in Tudu, Accra, on September 6, 2026.
The prosecution said Mutari admitted his involvement and assisted the police in arresting Issahaku and Abdul-Latif, whom he identified as persons who bought the stolen clothing.
The two suspects, however, denied involvement in the alleged offence.
They were subsequently charged and arraigned before the court, while David remains at large.
The case against the other accused persons is pending.
