Ballon d’Or 2026: I’ve no doubt – Getafe manager Jose Bordalas names award winner
According to a report by Daily Post on Sunday October 11, 2026, Getafe manager Jose Bordalas has backed Barcelona star Lamine Yamal to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or, expressing strong confidence in the youngster’s ability and potential.
Speaking after Getafe’s reported 3-0 defeat to Barcelona in LaLiga, Bordalas praised Yamal’s quality and explained why the young Spain international is so difficult for opponents to stop.
“We all know Lamine’s level. He’s fantastic. He is very difficult to stop, even when you take precautions,” Bordalas said, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.
The Getafe boss also highlighted Yamal’s potential to develop even further, suggesting that the Barcelona forward has the qualities needed to claim football’s most prestigious individual award.
“He is a magnificent young player, and he shows the level he has. He will improve much more and can win the Ballon d’Or. I have no doubt,” he added
Yamal faces strong competition for the award, with Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane and Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe also among the leading names mentioned in the report.
Although Bordalas is convinced of Yamal’s potential, the final outcome will depend on the award’s voting process and the performances of the shortlisted players. His comments nevertheless underline the growing recognition of the Barcelona youngster’s exceptional talent.
