Manchester City have completed the signing of 22-year-old Brazilian winger Allan Elias from Palmeiras on a five-year contract, with the deal valued at up to £34.2 million.
The Premier League champions agreed an upfront payment of £32m for the right-sided attacker, with an additional £2.2m in performance-related add-ons. Allan joins as a direct replacement for compatriot Savio, who completed a £75m transfer to Tottenham Hotspur last week.
Allan, a product of Palmeiras’ youth academy, recorded nine goals and 12 assists in 96 senior appearances across all competitions for the Brazilian top-flight club.
In a statement, the player described the move as a milestone in his career. “This is a surreal moment for me. Manchester City, with everything they have won over the past 15 years, are one of the most attractive clubs in the world for players,” Allan said. “To be able to sit here today and say I have joined them is the proudest moment of my life. I love Palmeiras and always will – but the decision to come to City was an easy one. I want to be the best footballer I can be and the conversations I’ve had with the people at City so far has convinced me there isn’t a better place for me to fulfil my ambitions.”
The acquisition marks the latest addition to manager Enzo Maresca’s squad during an active summer transfer window. City have now committed over £230m in new signings, having previously brought in Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest for £116m and Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille for £85.6m.
Meanwhile, the club remains engaged in negotiations with Liverpool over Dutch forward Cody Gakpo and is also pursuing Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez. Offsetting their spending, City have generated more than £286m through player departures, including the £65m sale of 2026 World Cup Golden Ball winner Rodri to Barcelona and Tijani Reijnders’ £52m move to Al-Qadsiah. Further income came from the permanent transfers of Nico Gonzalez and James Trafford, while Omar Marmoush has joined Tottenham on loan with an obligation to make the deal permanent next summer for £60m.
