Sunday Igboho Warns Against Plot to Dethrone Olubadan

Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has cautioned that Oyo State could face unrest if any attempt is made to remove the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, from the throne.
In a video shared by Oyo Affairs on Friday, Igboho reacted to allegations of a plot to dethrone the monarch, warning that any governor who tried such would face stiff resistance.
“They will declare a state of emergency. If any governor tries it, it is from Soka here that this state would be shaking,” he said.
Igboho questioned why anyone would contemplate removing the Olubadan, stressing that the monarch is an indigene of Oyo State and deserves respect. He dismissed claims of plans to ambush the monarch, insisting such talk should remain mere gossip.
“No one dare try such. Even when he was not yet Olubadan, you dare not, not to talk of now that he is on that seat,” he added.
The agitator assured Oba Ladoja of his safety, saying: “Baba, sleep and snore. There is no one that can come and meet you in your house. We are all indigenes of Oyo State. May Olubadan live long.”
The warning comes amid earlier allegations by former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose that Governor Seyi Makinde was planning to remove Ladoja, a claim the Oyo State government denied. Ladoja himself has dismissed suggestions of political involvement in succession disputes, while Ibadan elders have urged the monarch to remain above partisan politics.
