Ghanaians Left In Shòck As Passengers Beg Driver For Their Lives As He Engages In A High-Speed Run

According to a report by Ghpage News today being Tuesday, October 13, 2026, Passengers aboard a Mercedes-Benz bus reportedly experienced moments of fear after their driver allegedly engaged in a dangerous high-speed race with an Intercity STC bus, despite repeated appeals for him to slow down.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety of commercial transportation and the risks associated with reckless driving on Ghana’s roads.

According to the account, the Benz bus and the STC coach were involved in a high-speed encounter that left passengers on the Benz bus worried about their safety. As the vehicles continued moving at a reportedly alarming speed, passengers are said to have pleaded with their driver to reduce his speed and avoid putting their lives in danger.

However, the driver allegedly ignored their concerns and continued driving at the same pace, leaving those on board distressed by the situation.

The reported incident has drawn attention to the importance of responsible driving, especially among commercial transport operators who carry several passengers during their daily operations.

Commercial drivers have a duty to ensure the safety of their passengers by obeying speed limits, maintaining control of their vehicles, and avoiding unnecessary competition with other motorists. Engaging in a race on a public road can increase the likelihood of a collision and endanger people who have no control over the driver’s decisions.

High-speed driving can also make it more difficult for drivers to react to sudden changes in traffic conditions. This becomes particularly dangerous when large passenger vehicles are involved, as a crash could have serious consequences.

The concerns raised by the incident also highlight the importance of road safety education and effective enforcement of traffic regulations. Transport companies and relevant authorities have a responsibility to encourage safe driving practices and ensure that drivers understand the consequences of reckless behaviour.

Passengers, meanwhile, should be able to travel without fearing that their driver will expose them to unnecessary danger.

Details surrounding the location of the reported incident and whether any accident occurred were not included in the available account. Nevertheless, the episode serves as a reminder that road safety must remain a priority for every motorist.
