Liverpool have completed the signing of France forward Bradley Barcola from Paris St-Germain in a deal worth up to £123 million, making him one of the most expensive players in the club’s history.
PSG had initially valued the 23-year-old at £145m, but Liverpool will pay £106m up front, with a further £17m available in performance-related add-ons.
Barcola has signed a five-year contract at Anfield and becomes Liverpool’s fifth summer arrival, following winger Victor Munoz and defenders Jeremy Jacquet, Ronald Araujo and Ifeanyi Ndukwe.
“I’m really happy today to be able to play for Liverpool and all I want is to be on the pitch and be able to play,” Barcola said.
“I hope to achieve very big things. First of all, winning the Premier League – it’s one of my biggest dreams in my life.
“It is to do that and to stay in this team in the long term – that’s why I signed a long contract – and I hope I can do it.”
Barcola, who will wear the number 29 shirt, predominantly operates from the left wing but is capable of playing across the forward line.
His arrival is expected to strengthen Liverpool’s attacking options following Mohamed Salah’s departure, Hugo Ekitike’s long-term injury and the possibility of Cody Gakpo leaving the club.
Barcola enjoyed an impressive campaign last season, scoring 13 goals and providing seven assists in 49 appearances across all competitions for PSG.
He also featured in all eight of France’s matches at the 2026 World Cup, scoring three goals as Les Bleus reached the third-place play-off.
The forward joined PSG from Lyon in 2023 for a reported £38.5m and went on to win three Ligue 1 titles, two Champions League trophies, two French Cups, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup.
The final value of Liverpool’s agreement also includes a provision covering a solidarity payment PSG owe Lyon from Barcola’s original transfer to the French champions.
Barcola’s arrival further underlines Liverpool’s intention to strengthen their squad with proven attacking talent as they prepare for another demanding season domestically and in Europe.
