Scottland officially announce Norman Mapeza departure

Scottland FC have officially parted ways with head coach Norman Mapeza with immediate effect.

The club confirmed the development in a statement on Monday, bringing an end to Mapeza’s tenure following the team’s recent struggles.

Mapeza’s future had been in doubt following Scottland’s elimination from the CAF Champions League and their struggles in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title race.

The club has since appointed team manager Peter Ndlovu as interim head coach while it works towards finding a substantive successor.

In a statement, Scottland said: “Scottland FC advises its stakeholders, supporters and the football fraternity that it has parted ways with Head Coach Norman Mapeza with immediate effect.

“The club thanks Coach Mapeza for his service, commitment and contribution during his tenure and wishes him well in his future endeavours.

“Peter Ndlovu, who has been the team manager, has been appointed Interim Head Coach as the club works towards appointing a substantive successor.

“Scottland FC remains firmly focused on its objectives for the remainder of the season and is committed to maintaining stability, unity and a competitive spirit within the team.

“The club values the unwavering support of its stakeholders and supporters and calls for their continued trust and encouragement as we navigate this transition.”
