Life is too short to spend proving your worth –Nadia Buari advises

Ghanaian actress Nadia Buari has shared a message about self-worth, relationships and the importance of choosing spaces where people are valued.

In a post on X, the award-winning actress said people should not spend their lives seeking approval from those who fail to appreciate them. She described life as too short to be spent “proving your worth to people who are committed to misunderstanding you”.

Ms Buari also encouraged her followers to walk away from situations that no longer serve them, using the phrase: “Stop watering dead plants. Stop knocking on doors that are already shut.”

She urged people to instead focus their energy on finding spaces and relationships where they feel understood and appreciated. “Find the rooms where the lighting suits you. Find the people who speak your language,” she wrote.

The actress concluded by encouraging her followers to embrace self-love and choose people who value them. “Choose who chooses you,” she said, adding that going where one is celebrated can lead to a life that is “not just endured, but enjoyed”.

Nadia Buari attended Mfantsiman Girls’ Senior High School in the Central Region and then studied Performing Arts at the University of Ghana. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA degree).

She premiered on Ghanaian national television with the TV series Games People Play in late 2005.[7] Her first major film was Mummy’s Daughter, after which, she starred in Beyonce: The President’s Daughter.

Her role as “Beyonce” was her major breakthrough.
