Ghana international forward Mohammed Fuseini is set to join English Championship side Derby County on loan from Belgian champions Union Saint-Gilloise, with the deal including an option to make the move permanent.The 24-year-old has already completed his medical ahead of the transfer and is now expected to finalise the remaining formalities before being officially unveiled as a Derby player.Fuseinis move to Derby comes shortly after his proposed switch to Birmingham collapsed.The Ghanaian had travelled to England earlier this week to complete his transfer to Birmingham and undergo his medical.However, the deal fell through, forcing the forward to explore alternative options before the transfer deadline.Derby moved quickly to secure his services and have now reached an agreement with Union SG for the loan transfer.Fuseini attracted significant interest during the summer, with Birmingham, Troyes and Lorient among the clubs who explored the possibility of signing him.Derby ultimately succeeded in completing the deal after the collapse of his move to Birmingham.The forward joins Derby with valuable European and domestic experience gained during his time in Belgium.Fuseini moved to Union SG in 2024 from Austrian club Sturm Graz following an impressive loan spell at Danish side Randers.He went on to become part of Unions successful squad, helping the club win the Belgian Pro League title and Belgian Cup.He also featured in the UEFA Champions League during his time with the Belgian outfit and has scored 15 goals for Union since his arrival.Fuseini had made a promising start to the current campaign, providing two assists before scoring a spectacular curling effort against Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League qualifying rounds.His arrival will provide Derby with an additional attacking option as they look to strengthen their squad and compete strongly in the Championship.
