Katsina State Governor and Chairman of the Northwest Governors’ Forum, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has congratulated Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, on his 61st birthday, describing him as a dependable partner in efforts to secure and develop the Northwest region.
Radda, in a birthday message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, commended Lawal for his contributions to addressing insecurity and promoting development in Zamfara State and the wider Northwest.
The Katsina governor said Lawal’s leadership had extended beyond the borders of Zamfara State, particularly through his efforts in the fight against banditry and insecurity affecting the region.

“Governor Dauda Lawal has shown, through consistent action, that he understands the urgency of the security challenges confronting our region,” Radda said.
He added that Lawal’s contributions to the joint security architecture of the Northwest had helped restore confidence among communities that had experienced prolonged insecurity.
Radda also praised the Zamfara governor for his administration’s efforts in the education sector, particularly investments in schools, teacher welfare and access to quality education.
According to him, Zamfara’s recent investments in education have set a commendable pace for other states in the region.
The Katsina governor described Lawal as more than a colleague, stressing that he remained a genuine partner in the shared vision of the Northwest Governors’ Forum for a safer and more prosperous region.
He said the alliance among governors in the region would remain important to sustaining progress across the six Northwest states.
Radda, on behalf of the government and people of Katsina State, prayed for Lawal’s continued good health, wisdom and strength as he marks his 61st birthday.
He also expressed confidence that the Zamfara governor would continue to provide purposeful leadership and contribute to the development of Zamfara State and the Northwest region.
