Irvin Khoza Breaks Silence With Heartbreaking Message As Mandla Ncikazi Leaves Orlando Pirates

Khosa Breaks Silence on Mandla Ncikazi’s Orlando Pirates Exit as Emotional Message Emerges

Orlando Pirates chairman Irvin Khoza has delivered a heartfelt message to Mandla Ncikazi following the coach’s departure from the Soweto giants, expressing gratitude for his contribution and wishing him success as he prepares for a new chapter in his coaching career.

The message, which reflects the club’s appreciation for Ncikazi’s service, comes amid growing attention surrounding the experienced coach’s future and his next possible destination in South African football.

“Mandla leaves with our gratitude and our blessing. His contribution to Orlando Pirates has been evident throughout his time with us,” Khoza said.

“We respect his wish to pursue this new opportunity and wish him success as he takes on a new responsibility.”

Ncikazi has been an important figure within the Pirates technical team since joining the club ahead of the 2021/22 season. His experience in the Premier Soccer League made him a valuable member of the coaching staff, particularly during periods of transition at the club.

Before moving to Orlando Pirates, Ncikazi built his reputation at Golden Arrows, where he guided the Durban-based side to a historic fourth-place finish in the league during the 2020/21 campaign. His work at Abafana Bes’thende earned him recognition as one of the country’s respected local coaches.

At Pirates, Ncikazi worked under several head coaches, including Josef Zinnbauer and Jose Riveiro, before continuing his role under Abdeslam Ouaddou. Throughout those changes, his familiarity with South African football and the club’s environment provided valuable continuity.

His time at the Buccaneers also coincided with a successful period for the club, which collected several major trophies and strengthened its position among South Africa’s leading football institutions.

However, Ncikazi’s recent absence from the dugout had attracted considerable attention. Reports published in recent days suggested that tensions within the technical team could influence his future, while speculation also linked him with a possible return to Golden Arrows.

Golden Arrows have previously been associated with discussions about his potential availability, although the club has not confirmed an agreement to bring him back.

Khoza’s message places the emphasis on appreciation and respect, acknowledging the work Ncikazi contributed during his time in Soweto. It also signals the importance of allowing experienced coaches to pursue opportunities that align with their professional ambitions.

For Pirates supporters, Ncikazi’s possible departure represents the end of an important chapter involving a coach who played a role in the club’s recent achievements.

As attention turns to what comes next, the experienced tactician’s future will remain a talking point among South African football followers. Whether he takes on a new challenge elsewhere or returns to a familiar environment, his next move could have significant implications for his coaching career.

For now, Khoza’s message serves as a public expression of gratitude for Ncikazi’s service and a wish for success in the next stage of his journey.
