I Loved Him More Than Life Itself’ — Shivon Zilis Speaks On Breakup With Elon Musk
Shivon Zilis, technology executive and partner of billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, has broken her silence following the end of their romantic relationship, stating, “I’ve loved him more than life itself.”
Zilis, who shares four children with Musk, spoke about the breakup in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, October 2, 2026, following reports that Musk had unfollowed her on the platform.
She described the end of the relationship as sudden, noting how difficult it was to transition out of the partnership so quickly.
“It’s hard to go from in love to let go in a week with no warning, but that’s just how it is sometimes,” she wrote.
Zilis shared that she felt grateful for the time spent together and for providing a supportive environment for him.
“I feel happy that I got to show Elon how it feels to be deeply understood, nurtured, and peacefully loved with stability and gentleness,” she said.
She added that she aimed to bring calm to his demanding schedule and life.
“We were always his safe space. A place where all of us were overjoyed to see him and one that was always full of happiness and love, not war,” she stated. “I loved being that counterbalancing place of safety, sense of calm, and love and delighted in bringing a smile back to his face when he was down. I will miss him dearly.”
Reflecting on the impact of their time together, Zilis acknowledged the sense of loss while focusing on their family.
“I’ve loved him more than life itself, and he’s taught me 100 lifetimes of knowledge and made my cup overflow with life meaning, so there is a lot of loss,” she wrote. Luckily, we created four beautiful little loves of my life. I am so beyond grateful for our children, and they make every single day the best day of my life!”
Looking ahead, she expressed hope for a positive relationship as co-parents.
“I do hope and pray he and I can be great friends and coparents,” she wrote. “I’m hurting, but care deeply about E and will always be cheering for his happiness. God speed, Elon, the world is lucky to have you.”
As of Friday, Musk had not publicly commented on the breakup or responded to the post.
The pair are parents to four children: twins Strider Sekhar Sirius and Azure Astra Alice, born in 2021; daughter Arcadia, born in 2024; and their fourth child, Seldon Lycurgus, announced in 2025.
Zilis, who is not married to Musk, has worked across the technology and artificial intelligence sectors, previously serving on the board of OpenAI alongside holding roles connected to Musk’s ventures.
