Duale Claims he Still Talks to Uhuru But Says They Won’t Allow Him Bring Down Ruto’s Government
Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has claimed that he still maintains communication with former President Uhuru Kenyatta despite their political differences, but warned that they will not allow him to bring down President William Ruto’s government.
Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV, Duale described Uhuru as a friend whom he still respects, even as he accused the former Head of State of making life difficult for them during his final four years in office.
Duale claimed that Uhuru was sponsoring efforts to undermine Ruto’s administration, warning that the government would not give him a chance to succeed.
“The sponsor is still my good friend; we talk, and I have a lot of respect for him. My only problem with my old friend is that he made our lives hell during the last four years of his administration. He wants to bring down the government of Ruto; we will not allow that,” Duale said.
He added that Uhuru was free to sponsor as many people as he wished and spend his money, but insisted that they would not allow him to topple the current administration.
“He can sponsor as many people as he can; he can use all the trillions he has. We will not give him a chance,” Duale added.
On businessman Jimi Wanjigi, Duale praised his business acumen but questioned his political abilities, describing him as someone better suited to the boardroom than the political arena.
“Jimi Wanjigi is good in business. I don’t think he is a good politician. He is a very good guy in the boardroom. Jimi Wanjigi has refused to be part of the sponsor; he is a very independent-minded guy,” Duale said.
