Man Utd duo Albert Mills and Bendito Mantato start in England U19s win over Norway

England’s U19s made it four wins in four as they beat Norway on Tuesday, with two Manchester United academy stars named in the starting line-up.
The September-October international break doesn’t just apply to Manchester United’s first-team players. There are multiple academy prospects on international duty, representing their countries at the youth level.
It’s a fantastic opportunity for these young players to experience international football. They get the chance to test themselves against different opponents and with different teammates.
United had strong representation as England’s U19s beat Norway 2-1 on Tuesday. The coaches at the club will be encouraged by the reports.
Albert Mills and Bendito Mantato feature in narrow win over Norway
England’s U19s backed up their 1-0 win over the Republic of Ireland with a 2-1 victory over Norway. The Young Lions held a 2-0 lead at half-time, courtesy of goals from Luca Williams-Barnett and Alejandro Rodriguez.
Unfortunately for United’s two defenders, Albert Mills and Bendito Mantato, England were unable to keep a clean sheet as Norway pulled one back three minutes into the second half. They still managed to play a role in a positive result on the international stage.
Ben Futcher’s side will take on the United States on Friday at 3pm, with Mills and Mantato hoping to start again. That will be the final match before they return to Carrington, when their focus returns to club football. That’s where the hard work is put in if they want to become United academy graduates.
As a full-back, Mantato should be looking at the lack of options Michael Carrick has in his position to encourage him to push even harder to develop his game.
At the age of 18, Mantato and Mills both have time on their side. They will be given all the help they need by the coaches working at United.
