Mbappe vows to dedicate Ballon d'Or to Africa if he wins

Its part of the values instilled in you.I went back to Cameroon not long ago. I used to go there when I was little, and I had an amazing time.Every time I go to Africa, Im always welcomed so warmly. I feel the love from the people.Mbappe also thanked African supporters for their backing over the years and expressed his appreciation for the continent's connection with his career.First off, I want to thank them for the support over all these years. Ive always felt so loved every time Ive set foot on the African continent, he said.I think that, having African origins, its always a pleasure when people associate me with the Ballon dOr.I thank them for everything, and I hope to be able to walk away with the Ballon dOr and, in one way or another, dedicate it to them too, Mbappe added.Mbappe's father, Wilfried Mbappe, is of Cameroonian descent, and the Real Madrid forward has maintained strong links with the country.The France captain enjoyed a prolific campaign last season, finishing as the leading scorer in several major competitions, including the World Cup, UEFA Champions League and La Liga.A Ballon d'Or victory would add another major individual honour to his career, with Mbappe hoping his performances can earn him the prestigious award.
