The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in charge of Operations at the Zamfara State Police Command, Asbagu Aliyu Muhammad, is dead.
DCP Muhammad died at the Ahmed Sani Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, Gusau, at about 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2026.
According to a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Yazid Abubakar, the deceased was being treated for an undisclosed ailment.
The statement said the deceased was a senior police officer who served the Nigeria Police Force with dedication, professionalism and commitment to duty.
His death, it added, was a major loss to the Zamfara State Police Command, his colleagues and the entire Nigeria Police Force.
The Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Command, CP Ahmad Muhammad Bello, while commiserating with the deceased’s immediate family, relatives and colleagues, prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and accept his good deeds.
He also prayed for Allah to grant the late officer Aljannatul Firdaus and give his family and colleagues the fortitude to bear the loss.
The burial of the late DCP Muhammad is scheduled for 2 p.m. today, Sunday at Sheikh Ibn Umar Kanoma, in accordance with Islamic rites.
The command expressed its condolences to the family and prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased’s soul.
