I started casting out demons at 17, fighting insecurity not new terrain, says Okpebholo

Monday Okpebholo, governor of Edo, says tackling insecurity is not new to him as he started casting out demons when he was 17 years of age.

Okpebholo spoke on Sunday when he worshipped at The VOTAGE Church of the WINLOS Centre in Benin City.

“When I see young ones standing in the presence of God, I remember at the age of 17/18, I’ve also started casting out demons,” he said.

“So fighting insecurity, most especially cultism, is not a new thing to me. It’s something that has been happening.”

The governor confirmed his attendance of the service in an X post, describing the experience as “beautiful”.

“Today, I worshipped with the family of God at Living Faith Church, Sapele Road, and later at The Votage Church (Voice of This Age), Benin,” he wrote.

“It was a beautiful time of thanksgiving, fellowship and prayer. Together, we prayed for the continued peace and protection of Edo state, wisdom and strength for those entrusted with leadership, and God’s blessings upon our people and families.”

He said his administration remains committed to serving the people with humility, purpose and dedication.

“I believe that beyond our efforts, we must continue to seek God’s guidance and commit Edo state into His hands,” he added.
