Leweling joined Stuttgart permanently from Union Berlin in July 2024 after spending the previous season on loan at the club. Stuttgart paid 6m for the transfer, following a campaign in which he had initially moved to the club on loan.
He helped Stuttgart win the German Cup in the 2024-25 season, one year after completing his permanent move. His current deal leaves the German club in a strong contractual position should Liverpool decide to pursue the rumour, with any potential move requiring an agreement between the clubs rather than relying on an imminent contract expiry.
